BMX Tracks

D.T. Leisure specialise in bespoke BMX track design to fit individual requirements and help to consult and liase with local user groups, from the design concept of the BMX track through to the construction stages. In this way the new facility is liked and used by young bikers in the community.

Specification:
    Site Preparation
  1. Measure and mark out the area for the BMX track

  2. Drainage (Extra Cost if Required)
  3. A trench 500mm deep 300mm with 80mm diameter flexi coil, which will be covered with 400mm of clean free draining gravel. Then a strip of teram to prevent the final 100mm of top soil from contaminating the gravel, the drainage trenches will be used to drain the surface water from the track area to a nearby ditch or alternatively into a soakaway.

  4. Importation of Clay Based Subsoil
  5. Approx 160 tonnes of clay based compactable subsoil will be supplied all fill will be compacted in 300mm layers ready for shaping. There would be a saving on the project if the customers provide their own subsoil. (It is important to ensure that any spoil imported to the site does not contain the old tree roots, rubbish or metal or glass. The best material is a clay-based type of material or any subsoil taken from excavations of roads building site footings etc.)

  6. Track Construction
  7. The track will be shaped from the compacted mounds and will consist of a start hill and a combination of various obstacles (Jumps) and berms. The track will be built above ground level to assist with drainage.

  8. Track Surfacing
  9. The track when shaped will be dressed with a layer of 4mm to dust carboniferous limestone. It will be spread over the track surface and compacted to a depth of 75mm.

  10. Landscaping
  11. Grass seed will be scattered on the sides of the jumps and the back of the berms.

  12. Signage
  13. A information sign will be supplied and installed.

  14. RoSPA Report
  15. After the completion of the BMX track a full post installation report will be carried out by a qualified RoSPA Inspector (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents).
